Our Consultants

The team of consultants at AWB Consulting is broadly based and combines different educational backgrounds and professional experience from many areas of business, administration and consulting. With a view to the practical implementation of customs and export control in the company, methodology and feasibility, we advise our customers in a partnership and result-oriented manner in order to achieve the set goals together.

Frank Görtz

Managing Director

Frank is a true practitioner and started his career at OTTO Versand at an early age as Head of Customs. After moving to Lufthansa’s management, he was responsible for customs, export control and foreign trade worldwide in various divisions. In addition, he worked as a stakeholder for various associations both in Brussels and in Berlin, including as head of the customs working group at the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the European Airline Association. Since 2012, he has also been active on the board of the European Forum for Foreign Trade, Customs and Excise Duties. His focus is on international customs and export control process management, including management tasks.

Michael Tomuscheit

Managing Director

Michael knows the perspectives of industry, customs administration and consulting: After completing his studies at the Federal University of Public Administration in Münster/Westphalia, Michael began his professional career in the senior service of the German customs administration and at the same time expanded his education by studying business law at the University of Saarland. After working as a customs officer, Michael advised national and international companies as Senior Manager of the customs consulting practice at Deloitte and Ernst & Young on all questions of customs, excise tax and foreign trade law as well as on the implementation of customs and customs IT projects. As Trade Compliance Manager at Intel and Senior Manager in Customs Strategy and Governance at the BMW Group, his work focused on international project management in all areas of customs and export control law, the development and implementation of process and organizational structures, risk management systems and the implementation of customs and export control IT systems.

Christopher Sievers

Managing Director

Christopher comes from entrepreneurial practice: After finishing his studies of International Economy in Göttingen, he started his professional career in the area of foreign trade in the automotive industry. As a foreign trade manager at BMW Group in the division Customs Strategy & Foreign Trade, his core area was International Customs Project Management and implementing as well as developing Foreign Trade IT solutions (focus: Preference Management).

As head of the central EMEA & governance customs function at HELLA GmbH & Co. KGaA, Christopher was then able to expand his portfolio with operational responsibility in various areas of EU customs law. Based on interaction with Management Board, various company functions and direct customer contact, he is well aware of the typical day-to-day challenges of a modern customs organization. 

Bianka Wolfsteller

Manager

Bianka started her professional career in operational customs clearance. After her extra-occupational practical studies to become a business economist for international business (BAA), she was responsible for the areas of customs and export control in management and executive positions for many years in well-known international cooperations, such as the agricultural manufacturer AGCO GmbH or the Swarovski Group. Here, her focus was on the strategic and organizational development as well as the optimization and digitalization of customs and export control processes.

After more than 15 years of practical experience, Bianka Wolfsteller decided to make her extensive knowledge available and worked as a lecturer at bav GmbH/Reguvis Akademie GmbH from 2018 to 2021.

Due to her holistic and entrepreneurial view in the fields of customs and export control, she was a preferred candidate at the Zumtobel Group and provided interim support as Director Global Customs & Export Control from 2021.

Bianka Wolfsteller is also the author of numerous publications on customs and export control law and always expertly contributes her practical experience and expertise across various industries.

Dominik Organistka

Manager

Dominik started his professional career in the higher service of the customs administration. After his studies at the Federal University for Public Administration in Münster / Westphalia, he worked as a clerk for energy and electricity tax, as a clearance officer at the Garching-Hochbrück customs office and most recently for several years as an auditor for import trade and preference audits at the main customs office in Munich. Since 2022, he has been advising clients on topics in the domains of customs, foreign trade and excise tax law. He is also a lecturer at the AWA Foreign Trade Academy.

Katharina Schmidt

Senior Consultant

Katharina has great enthusiasm for IT and processes. With her expertise in the domain of customs and export controls, she acts with full dedication as an interface between the IT and business departments of the world, with the aim to successfully implement defined requirements. The combination of industry experience (including automotive, luxury foods), many years of experience as a consultant, in-depth knowledge and, above all, passion for foreign trade topics, enables Katharina to be the matching partner at your side.

Ursel Puchbauer

Senior Consultant

Ursel has worked for Panasonic (formerly Matsushita) in the industrial sector for many years. She started as a shipping clerk at Panasonic Electric Works Deutschland GmbH and was responsible for export processing. After the merger with Panasonic Electric Works Europe AG, she took over the management of outbound logistics and the support of European sales regarding logistical and customs-related issues. During this time, she completed a bachelor’s degree in International Management at FOM. After her time in logistics, she was responsible for setting up the export control department at Panasonic Electric Works Europe AG and Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH. In addition, she has provided export control support and advice to two other Panasonic business units.

Sven Walter

Senior Consultant

Already during his time in Military Air Traffic Control Sven could get a lot of experience with planning and the efficient use of legal regulations. After 8 years in service he started his civil career in the logistic department of a big cabinet manufacturer. This was followed by  management positions in the customs departments of various companies in mechanical engineering and the Aviation industry. Due to his work in the customs working groups of the VDMA and the BDI, he is familiar with the development and use of networks. Sven is certified trainer for the Incoterms 2010 and 2020. His focus is on process consulting and approval management.

Marc Lehmann

Senior Consultant

Marc can already draw on many years of experience as a consultant in the field of customs and foreign trade as well as operational customs clearance at AOB/KGH. He was able to contribute his experience to various projects in the areas of classification, export control, permit management/application, AEO monitoring and the digitalization of monitoring, as well as air cargo security, among others. Likewise, he was already able to apply and expand his knowledge in different industrial companies as an interim manager. His main focus at AWB Consulting is on the classification of goods, export control, the implementation and optimization of process and organizational structures as well as the support and further development of the AEO Manager. 

 

Claire Augustin

Consultant

Claire started her professional career with a dual business administration degree. She quickly discovered her passion for customs and export control at Glatfelter Corporation, where she joined the Customs & Trade Compliance team as a Junior Specialist after completing her studies (DHBW). Her focus was in WuP, whereby her portfolio of competencies was also constantly expanded in customs and export control (EU/US). In addition, she has industry knowledge in the specialty paper industry, operational professional experience and a holistic understanding of the interdependencies and interfaces between company’s departments.

Antonia Livajic

Consultant

At the beginning of her professional career, Antonia first completed an interdisciplinary course of study with a focus on logistics, which included business management, information technology and technical aspects. Already during this time, she was continuously interested in getting to know the field of logistics in corporate practice and gained various practical experiences along the entire supply chain. She specialized in the automotive industry and gained industry-specific knowledge. She quickly developed a special interest in the topics of customs and foreign trade, which she also deepened in a practical context.

Karl Niedermeier

Business Analyst

Since November 2022, Karl has been supporting the AWB Consulting team as a business analyst in a variety of coordinative and research-related activities, with a focus on customs tariff classification. In addition, Karl is an integral part of the administrative structure and thereby ensures the smooth running of internal processes.

Previous professional experience in trade and commerce rounds off Karl’s profile and contributes to the unconditional customer focus of AWB Consulting.

Claudia Bürscher

Team Assistant

Claudia started her professional career in the tourism industry and worked for many years at a large Munich-based tour operator. After moving into the world of management consulting, she is now our contact person for all administrative issues. She is the interface to the accounting department and supports all employees in their everyday questions, for example in planning business trips or queries regarding the project tool. Her other areas of focus are project administration, invoicing and administration of temporary employment agency work. In addition, she is responsible for the commercial processing around the AEO/Approval Manager and for the office organization at the Munich location.
