For the implementation of customs and foreign trade IT projects, we rely on a worldwide network of IT specialists and freelancers. These include SAP GTS consultants (also specialised in specific topics such as inward processing), programmers (Java, ABAP etc.), software architects, data and analytics experts or change management specialists. Here we co-operate closely with Angela Fankhänel, who coordinates the IT consultant network. As a freelance consultant, Angela advises companies on selecting and implementing customs software solutions. After her training as an industrial manager, she initially worked as a customs declarant at Zurich Airport, furthering her career in the field of logistics. Since 1998, Angela has focused on the development, selection and implementation of standard software solutions for customs clearance and export control, first at SAP AG, then at two leading auditing firms. As Head of Process Standardization Customs in the Global Customs division of DHL Global Forwarding Management GmbH, she was in charge of developing worldwide customs processes and overseeing their implementation in IT systems. In 2016, she started a career as a freelance management consultant.
